Funding & Grant Writing

This part of the series provides an overview of how students get salaries and funding for their research projects, networking opportunities, and other activities. Oftentimes a student’s financial stability depends on the program and lab they are in, so we cover what to look out for when deciding among them. We also provide more detail on how to apply for fellowship opportunities that can be offered before you enter a graduate program, or within your first two years as a graduate student.
